Renting a Car

Renting a car in Malta

Until the reorganisation of Malta’s bus system, it was more convenient to rent a car for your holidays. However, now that the bus system has been modernised, it is cheaper to take the bus, as long as you are not in a rush. It will take longer to get to your final destination by bus, as they stop often and only service certain routes. But thanks to the day and week pass, which didn’t exist previously (back then you had to pay for every ride), riding the bus became a cheaper alternative to renting a car.

In Malta, it’s worth renting a car for a few days to discover the island, especially when travelling in a small group. The price per day is slightly less than five people paying for public transport, and it is more comfortable and timesaving.
