Marsaxlokk Fish Market in MaltaMarsaxlokk Fish Market

Every Sunday, the fish market of Marsaxlokk has the sea’s abundance for sale. Not only fish is on offer, but also clothing, household appliances, toys, souvenirs, shoes, CDs, fruit and vegetables and many other small trivia!

If you intend to buy any fish, you should be there during the early morning hours, as most fishmongers close at noon. By then, the best and freshest specialities are all sold out. The other stalls only close in the early afternoon. Haggling is a must! Often, prices are given, but you should see them as a starting point, as you can always get it cheaper. If you want a real bargain, you should come back later, once most people are gone - then you will get the item at a really good price. But you also might be out of luck if it’s already gone!
