Malta is not the ideal terrain for horse riding. The rocky coastline and the many closed-off fields in the centre of the island, as well as the numerous small walls that surround these fields (which serve to protect the soil/harvest again the strong wind), make outdoor riding rather difficult.
There are riding schools in Marsa, Pembroke, Golden Bay and Victoria/Rabat (Gozo). They offer classes and organise rides.
