Wagner Language Traveling

The central location in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea and the lovely weather make Malta the ideal place to study the English language. Malta consists of three main islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino.

Historically, Malta was a strategically important central location to many civilizations and nations, including the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Arabs, the Order of St John, the French and the British, all of whom fought fiercely over it for many centuries. They all occupied that small island at various times, and left traces that can be still seen and felt today. Malta owes its diverse history to these influences. Malta has been an independent state since 1964 and a member of the European Union since 2003.

The island was a colony of the British Empire from 1814 to 1964. During this period, the islands and their citizens were strongly influenced by the British. One of the two official languages is English; the Maltese drive on the left side of the road and love their English breakfasts! Both of Malta’s major daily newspapers are print in English.
