The Azure Window

The Azure Window is a natural rock formation situated in the sea, west of Gozo. It is so named because it looks like a door or window. The surroundings are also very lovely, and the view of the sea and the cliffs is particularly beautiful, when the sun sets. A sign nearby warns people not to walk over the arch of the window. Next to the attraction, there is a small café and several stalls selling beverages, ice cream and snacks.

On top of the small hill is an old church and behind it, in the small valley, tour operators offer a boat trip through the grotto to the Azure Window for around 3.50 Euros.

Getting there might be a bit difficult, as the buses in Gozo don’t run as regularly as they do in Malta.
